Updated 2018 Mazda 6 Tourer Comes to Geneva
Mazda’s frontrunner for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show is going to be the facelifted 2018 Mazda 6 Tourer, coming along with the recently upgraded Mazda 6 saloon, which made its debut during the Los Angeles Motor Show in the previous year.
As expected, the changes received by the updated Tourer are almost similar to the saloon version. This means the most noticeable changes to this upcoming model are the exterior aesthetics, the mesh grille, and chrome detailing found around the vehicle’s LED headlights.
The interior received a much larger overhaul. Aside from brand new seats, switchgear, and technology, you will find a simpler dashboard design with more plain surfaces. In the instrument cluster you will see an updated eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well as an optional seven-inch TFT display.
The powertrain details for both the Tourer and the saloon version are still unknown, although the company promises enhanced performance and efficiency, which possibly could be updated versions of the 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engines.
There are chassis tweaks made on the Tourer as well, with Mazda making changes to its suspension setup in order to provide both comfort and agility. It also has the i-ACTIVSENSE safety and assistance technology paired with a 360-degree top-down camera.
