Here's Hyundai's Teaser of the Kona EV
We are near the much anticipated of Hyundai’s official unveiling of it’s all-electric Kona SUV, and here’s a quick glimpse into what it will look like.
The Hyundai Kona EV is set to have its full reveal on February 27 and will be gracing the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March with its presence. This is strategic as it will be putting the model on sale shortly in the summer. Hyundai says they will be the first to offer electric compact SUVs in Europe, although Kia has been selling Soul electric versions in the previous years.
Information on specific details is still scarce, although the Kona EV will be made available in two variants of powertrain. It is also believed that they are targeting to achieve around 300 miles of transport on just one charge.
Another promise of Hyundai is that it will boast a “fun-to-drive character.” This will be coupled with “a wide range of convenience and connectivity features” as well as driver assistance and safety technology.
The most noticeable feature of the Kona EV as of the moment is the new grille, which is a bit different to the standard ones the company has created.
As always, it will carry the “H” badge over a mesh grille, although there’s reason to believe the grille may be solid like Ioniq’s electric version. We may also expect blue detailing on the car to signal that it is an electric vehicle.
The Kona EV is going to be the latest in Hyundai’s eco-friendly models. It was the first to create a number of fuel-cell vehicles like the ix35 and Nexo. Moreover, Hyundai is going to be the first company to feature three electric powertrains, namely hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric, available in the same model.
We will get to know more about the Kona EV when it officially unveils on February 27 and then on the Geneva Motor Show.
